Update (04. Dec 09, 7:47 AM): Looks like some good news, maybe: the injury may be minor. It was to his knee, but the team is reportedly expecting him to be able to play tomorrow. He’ll undergo more tests today and then we’ll know for sure.
Bullet dodged, possibly. – Matt
More bad news for the Wings: Jonathan Ericsson has left the Wings/Oilers game with an apparent left ankle injury. He could put very little weight on it as he worked his way off and had to be helped down the tunnel to the lockerroom. FS D safely speculates he won’t be back tonight.
The replay showed Jonny skating behind the net, getting intertwined slightly with an Oiler stick at his left ankle, and then suddenly reeling in pain. Not sure what happened exactly, but his limping to the bench didn’t look good. Possible it’s just a sprain, but could also be a small break such as we saw with Zetterberg when Bryan Allan slashed him his rookie year.
Hoping to catch Babcock’s comments after the game to see if he has any news.
