Miller a Wing

No, not Ryan. Sorry. His younger brother, Drew, was claimed by the Wings off waivers today from the Lightning. I expect he’ll be with the big club for a while, at least until the injuries subside. Then he’ll probably be in GR.

I saw yesterday that he was on waivers on thought to myself, hmm I wonder if Detroit will grab him. It obviously doesn't help our scoring woes much, but he is an NHL tested depth-checking line forward.

Boy, we sure are loading up on the ex-Ducks this season with Bert, May, and now Miller.

Oh, I will admit that when I read that headline I forgot about Drew being on waivers, and almost fell outta my chair when I saw "Miller a Wing."

  2. John,

Sorry 'bout that. Jimmy's starting tonight and we're all very nervous, so I thought I'd have a little fun. Cruel, I know. I'm bored, what can I say?

  3. John W. says:

    Yeah, tell me about it,

Jimmy Howard + Rick Nash = Very bad feeling

I think I would have started Ozzie tonight and Howard tomorrow. After all, Jimmy did pretty well (relatively) last time against Vancouver in relief of Ozzie.

  4. Meanwhile, the Griffins have signed a goaltender to a PTO. This makes us very curious about what could be going on. If someone was sick, they could just call up Pearce from Toledo. And they have two very capable goaltenders in Larsson and McCollum. So why sign a third?

  5. John W. says:

Hmmm, maybe Larsson or McCollum is gonna get a call-up soon to see what they can do in the NHL?

Something tells me Jimmy better have a good game tonight…

  6. Well, with the Wings season going the way that it is, and all the injuries, they can't really wait until the trade deadline to see if Jimmy's gonna make it. Who knows if Ozzie will be able to dodge this injury bug (knocking on every wood surface in the room)? Then where would we be? Look at the situation in Carolina right now. McCollum isn't really ready. But I wouldn't be surprised to see them give Larsson a look with how well he's been playing (San Antonio aside).
