Ansar Khan reports that the Wings are going to give Datsyuk another game off to recover from the mysterious upper body injury. Apparently, he’s “close,” which is about as vague as it gets.
Brad May will be back in the lineup against Colorado, though, at the expense of Kris Draper or Kirk Maltby, apparently.
Also, Chris Osgood will start, rather than Jimmy Howard, who was previously meant to get either the Kings game or tomorrow’s. The Buffalo fiasco screwed that up.

Please don’t tell me this is going to turn into last Spring where they kept saying Pav was going to play the next game for 2 weeks straight.
That said, this does make sense, if he sits this game it gives him well over a week off total, as their next game isn’t until next Thursday. If he misses that game, I’m officially worried.
John, yeah, that’s my worry here too. We’ve seen these day-to-day scenarios bleed into week-to-week too many times for me not to be uneasy. I’m with you on the Tuesday game. I’ll really be worried if he’s not suiting up for that one.
On a positive note, it looks like Babcock’s taking this opportunity to jumble up the lines and see who works well together. Now that he’s got May playing instead of Draper and Maltby, Abdelkader’s been called up in the past, so everybody’s getting a chance. He’ll probably draw on this when he has to make lines later in the season.
