Well, that’s done. Not the prettiest ending to the series, but thanks to Johan “Clutch” Franzen, they got it done. Now that the first challenge is out of the way, I’m liking their chances going forward.

Congrats to the Jackets for making it to the post-season. I hope the team takes some lessons away from this series and is right back in the fight next year.

More tomorrow.

    Shew!

Seems like some of the poor clears and turnovers are starting to creep back in again. Thankfully the Jacket's D continued to give Mason zero help, having the first goal bank in off one of their legs, then on the first Hossa goal, one of their D men was too busy cross-checking Homer to worry about trying to clear a rebound or playing actual defense. Finally, on the game winner, their D man pushed Hudler into Mason, before bumping him himself.

The Jackets put up a heck of a fight coming back from down 2 twice, but I am just as impressed that the Wings were able to hold them off from ever taking the lead despite the newly ignited crowd. It's what they couldn't do last year in Games 3 and 4 in Nashville.

Now they will get roughly a week off to heal and work out some defensive kinks.

I've never been so glad to not to be able to go to a Wings game, as I had tix for Game 5. I'll take the win any day!

Kudos to Columbus for making the playoffs, but a pretty pathetic showing by their fans with their throwing their garbage onto the ice. If that's going to be a continuing trend with Blue Jacket fans then I hope they don't see the postseason for another near-decade.
