Communication and Post-Holding

As spotty as the goaltending has been this season, I don’t think there have been that many nights where you could say that the goalie’s play led directly to a loss. This, however, was one such night.

Ty Conklin flat out did not provide the kind of goaltending that gives a team a chance to win. In fact, he torpedoed two separate comeback attempts by failing in two basic aspects of goaltending: communication with the skaters, and holding the post.

Was it the best game of the season for the rest of the team? No, but it was a winnable one, aside from Conks’ mental errors.

More tomorrow.

LET'S FACE IT. THIS TEAM IS IN TROUBLE. ON THE ICE, ON THE BENCH, BEHIND THE BENCH AND "UPSTAIRS". TONIGHT'S LOSS WAS JUST ANOTHER JOKE.

So much for my comment the other day about someone (goalie) saying they will take this team on their shoulders and lead them to the Cup. I think tonight's performance pretty much ends any talk about who the goalie will be for the playoffs. If they're both gonna play crappy, then I guess you have to go with experience, and hope it takes over. Unless of course Larssen is ready!

Although I will say, despite losing to them today, and I know you never wanna pick your poison, but this loss doesn't break my heart, as I'd rather St. Louis get in than both Anaheim and Nashville. If we can sub the Blues for either one of those I think it would be for the better.
