The Wings are headed to the Finals, folks!
What a great performance, one of their best of the post-season. They were intent about leaving no doubts from the drop of the puck, showing the grit and work ethic that has characterized this team at their best all season.
The team played well as a whole, from Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk, to Kris Draper and Dallas Drake, to Chris Osgood.
Kudos to the Stars for their hard work and for making things interesting in the third period.
The Finals start on Saturday at 8:00 PM ET on Versus. With two of the most highly-skilled teams in the League facing off for the Cup, we should have a great series.

Good job, guys. I wish it could have been the Stars in the Finals, but I hope you annihilate the Penguins.
From a Stars fan, congratulations to the Red Wings.
I figured that a Game 6 would be harder to win than a potential Game 7 by the following logic:
You’re up 3-0 and you lose Game 4, you simply chalk it up to the other team being more desperate than you.
You lose Game 5 and that gets your attention for Game 6. You realize that having a Game 7 back home after being up 3-0 may not be much of a home ice advantage, so you go out and match the desperation of your opponent.
And that’s exactly what Detroit did. Sure, you could argue that was a fortunate bounce off Draper’s face. But the goal would not have occurred had he not attacked the net.
And continue to attack the net, the Red Wings did. Especially when Dallas started playing tentatively. The Stars weren’t able to find the edge they needed to compete in this one until the third and by then, it was too little too late. Detroit faced adversity and they responded very well.
Good luck against Pittsburgh in the Cup Finals.
That was one hell of a game. Way to go Dallas. I wish we would have had that for game four. But now we get a Hockey Night In Canada show for game one sweet. The hockey gods are looking down on Detroit.
What was going on with all the penalties, in a playoff game no less.
I am gonna get a pound of calamari for Saturday, woohoo.
Before the game started I thought all four lines needed to get a goal, I guess 3 out 4 was good enough. Good to see ol Dally get one he gets a big atta boy. His face said it all as he turned away from the Marty.
Hossa Hossa Hossa Hossa, strap my Iron City Beer under your chinny chin chin! Pens in 5 Pens in 5, the cup comes back to da burgh!
Brought to you by WWGRD!
Did you see all of the falling Stars in the Dallas sky last night?!!!
Way to go Wings!!!! They’ve played some of the best hockey that I’ve seen them play in a long time during these playoffs… let’s keep it up. It’s time for Sid to meet the squid!!!
GO WINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can’t wait.
