Alex,

I agree with just about everything you said. A couple minor quibbles on the Hasek issue, but that's it.

I'm glad you got to go to the game. I only wish it had been a better one.

I got to attend live Matt, and from my view, the Sens were in practice for the first 48 minutes of the game. The Wings were slow, stupid, and lazy. Nk Kronwall didn't look good at all, as he had at least three times that I remember when he was at the left point, and just turned around and fired a pass back to the man on the right point. Problem was, a Sen was sitting there every time to pick it off. It was also this type of play that led to Fisher's goal.

Dom also I thought looked weak on the last two goals. The first was a perfect shot by Alfredsson, and Hasek was screened. On fisher's, yes it was a breakaway, but Hasek made the initial save. He couldn't cover the puck in his feet though, and as a result Fisher got the second chance. That also falls on I believe Chelios and Lebda for not getting back, but Dom should've covered up. On Alfredsson's second, it was a slapshot from just in front of the goal line that went through Dom's legs. In my opinion, there's no excuse for that, that was a bad goal for Dom to give up, and it was crippling because the team had just come back from the 2-goal deficit.

But through the first 48 minutes, the team was just a mess. No one was connecting on passes, they weren't getting to the net. Datsyuk couldn't stay on his feet it seemed, Hank just seemed disinterested most of the time, and it does in fact look like Fils has reverted to his old bumbling self. He'd get the puck and just fall over.

and I don't know if it's just me, but it seems like the team tends to play way more tight defensively when Ozzie's between the pipes. When Dom's back there, they seem to get into this state of "Meh, Dom will save my ass." But the problem is, Dom's 42 years old, and frankly, I don't think he can steal games as easily as he could 10 years ago.

But overall, it was frustrating to watch. The heckling was actually pretty tame afterwards though. But the team better bring their A game if these two happen to meet in the Cup Final, or else the exact same thing is going to happen.
