I’m sorry, but I’m working on a major paper all this weekend and can’t take the time. I hope to have it done in time to watch tomorrow night’s game, but I can’t make any promises. Be sure to stop by Gorilla Crouch and Snapshots for game day stuff.
I will say this, the roster situation is going to be interesting if Chris Osgood is not able to back up Hasek. To call up Jimmy Howard, the team will either need to demote Aaron Downey or put Ozzie on 7-day IR. Neither of those are ideal. Let’s hope he’s no longer sick.
Oh, and be sure to read this piece by a blogaholic named Bruce.

Today is not a day to be rooting for anything red anyways…
GO BLUE!!!!!!!!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!
Yeah, I ended up watching the latter part of the game after all things Michigan football went so wrong. It was nice to have hockey to escape to for the evening.
I couldn’t believe how the Wings gave up 3 shorthanded goals and Sharp nearly had a fourth but Hasek stopped him. It was dramatic seeing Lidstrom crumble at the blue line and Sharp going the other way to score. I’ve never seen Lidstrom make such a huge mistake to give up a game winning goal. Cleary should’ve scored on that back door chance (I believe on the same PP) but didn’t get enough of the puck.
I hope Bourque didn’t break his hand - on the penalty kill, he took a shot off his glove and went immediately to the locker room. That would be a major blow to Chicago. Top to bottom, I’ve never seen the Central Division so strong. To have every team above 0.500 is pretty impressive. Hopefully it stays that way because I think it’ll help the Wings in the end, and these games are fun to watch.
On a side note, Crosby is at 19 games straight with a point. In the first period, he could’ve had 4-5 pts, but the Rangers’ Lundqvist (1.77 GAA) prevented that. That was also a very fun game to watch.
Hopefully the Wings are able to bounce back this afternoon.
via TSN: “Bourque will miss at least a month after breaking his thumb during Saturday night’s 5-3 win over the Detroit Red Wings.”
