Well, there goes that possibility. Not that it was all that likely after the Rafalski signing, but we could still hope, right? The Wings probably could have afforded Kozzie’s new 3-year, $11 million ($3.6M a year) contract. Oh well.
Damn, I was really hoping to see Slava in a Red Wings uniform again. Out of Ansar’s list, the only person he makes sounds appealing is Mike Comrie. I think he could do well playing with someone like Fils. I’d love it if the Wings could get Forsberg, but frankly I don’t think he’ll take $4 million or less.
We got our depth D-man though, Brad Ference. I saw it on The Score up here in Canada, but I think it’s also on TSN’s website too.
Yeah, Mike Comrie does sound the most appealing of those players. I don’t think the Wings would touch Forsberg with a bargepole, though. His health issues are bad enough to prohibit that.
It does look like they signed Ference, but I haven’t seen anything official yet, so I’m not sure. If they did, he’ll probably be a Griffin.
Too bad, I would have liked to have Kozzie back. Can’t say I was really expecting to get him though, but it would have been nice.
