Bertuzzi bolts to Ducks

Update (8:35 PM): TSN has updated the article and it now says Bertuzzi will get $8 million over two years. Given that $4 million a year was s more than the Wings could offer him, it’s no surprise he left. I guess he wasn’t all that serious about wanting a longer-term contract. - Matt

Two-years, terms not disclosed. That’s another Wing packing his bags to fly to Anaheim. Screw you, Brian Burke. And Todd? You’re evil again.

What is it with Red Wings going to Anaheim? First it was Fedorov back in 03, now Bertuzzi and Schneider? do they think the Ducks are automatically going to get another Cup or something?

Meh, Bertuzzi isn’t a big deal. He was playing on the 4th line by the Western final, so it’s not like he’s a blow to our top two lines. If Kenny goes out and gets Slava Kozlov, he should be more than able to fill the void Bertuzzi could fill offensively.

I really couldn’t care less about Bertuzzi going somewhere else (especially for $4 mil!), but it really bothers me that he went to Anaheim. What is with them? They beat us in the playoffs and then they snatch up our UFAs. I’m surprised they didn’t go out and sign Lang and Calder too. Sheesh.

Sarah, there’s a difference between snatching up our UFA’s and picking up our trash. :)
I’m sorry to see Bert go and am curious to see how Kenny responds. We’re starting to look thin.

So it seems that Bertuzzi called the Ducks, and not the other way around…
