Sorry about the delay in publishing these, but here are three pictures of our mini-shrine for games. We all have much more Wings stuff, by the way, just not at school, if it’s a little underwhelming, that’s why.
Thanks to the guys at Japer’s Rink for setting up such a great project. Be sure to check out their if you haven’t already.

It’s been a while since I’ve made a comment, but I thought this was a bit interesting…I got it from the game recap on NHL.com:
“The Sharks made a rare mistake early in the third period with a Detroit-like giveaway. Cleary made them pay for it with the short-handed goal that made [the game] 2-all.”
A “Detroit-like giveaway?” And yesterday, everyone’s favorite anouncer Hull said this (to a certain extent):
“I don’t know what Datsyuk does, but he makes plays that makes Zetterberg look good….(and)…Hasek is terrible with the puck.”
Datsyuk and Zetterberg play their own game and work together to help the TEAM; it’s not about who’s better. And Hasek? He’s made ONE turnover that’s lead to a goal. In my opinion, he’s one of the best puck handlers (ok, maybe not Brodeur or Turco good…) However, I DO believe that he tries to play it WAY too often, and usually I’m scared when he leaves the net when I don’t think he should have.
I’ve come to realized that I personally dislike the media now. All the crap they keep saying about Detroit because of their past playoff performances. They need to put the past in the past and move on.
And by the way, I like the seating arrangement you have for the games.
Firebird,
Good to see you back!
Ha, that comment about Detroit-like giveways by the AP people is interesting. The Wings have been sloppy with the puck in this series, but turning the puck over is not exactly something new in the game of hockey. The media obviously loves to see the Wings screw up.
As for the comment on Zetterberg by Hull, that just proves once again that he should stick to playing hockey and since he can’t do that now that he’s retired, he should just shut up. It’s not a matter of Datsyuk making Zetterberg look good, it’s a matter of them complementing each other and feeding off each other. They are two very different players, but excellent in their different capacities. Maybe it’s Hull’s one-sided game that prevents him from seeing the value in Hank’s two-way skill.
Hasek is definitely not of the vein of Turco and Brodeur and by that I mean he’s not a proactive puck handler. He’s much more of a defensive puck handler, one who is better at stopping the puck behind the net and teeing it up for his defensemen than in sending it up ice. Like you say, though, he tries to do that too often and in bad situations. And often, he is too slow to react when things go badly. I wish he’d be more careful.
