Well, that couldn’t have gone much better. A great start to the playoffs for the Wings, one that I found much more encouraging than their Game 1 win last year. It was a wake-up call for the Flames, though, so they can’t become complacent, as Calgary will come out charging Sunday afternoon. The Wings need to maintain their focus and, after watching them tonight, I’m confident they will.

What a good start, indeed. And great to see Hank throwing his body around like that! They came out on fire. I know it’s just one game, but you really get the sense that this is a team on a mission, and will come out with the intensity they need to win.
