I’m going to cry a little if the Wings ever call home an arena with a corporate name. It’s bad enough that there’s an arena called “Jobing.com Arena”…we don’t need another one like that.

How about “Production Line Arena” to honor the others who played with Gordie? He’s the big name that most recognize, but he wasn’t alone. It also somewhat honors the history of the Motor City.

I’m with you, Megan. I would support either “Gordie Howe Arena” or “Illitch Arena,” not something like “Southwest Airlines Center.” If the Wings are going to move, a name like that is a must. They should be taking the lead in giving nods to the League’s history, not toeing the line on corporate-sponsored buildings.
