He doesn't seem like he's anything too special to me, especially since Colorado didn't keep him. As far as Barney...I can't say what happened. I didn't really know anything about him before this year. He's not really playing on a fantastic team, so that probably isn't helping his stats. He's only played 40 games, but that should still equal more than 4 goals. I always liked him on the ice because of his size (standing next to the guy is intimidating). Honestly, I really didn't know he was a scorer. The entire Grand Rapids team (aside from Ellis, Meech, and maybe Ericsson) has been a little disappointing and underachieving.
