NHL.com feature on Brett Lebda

John McGourty has a great piece up at NHL.com on Brett Lebda, who I think is the Wings’ most underrated young player. Be sure to check it out.

I really like Lebda. I think he’s leaving Kronwal in the dust…and I like Kronwal a lot. He just doesn’t make me as nervous in his own end like Kronwal does. He has got WHEELS.

Oh yeah, Brett is definitely the better of the two, though Kronwall has the added dimension of an open ice hitting ability. Brett’s outlet pass is one of the best on the team, I think, with only Nick Lidstrom and Mathieu Schneider having better.

He does have wheels, I think maybe the best on the team. He certainly has a coast-to-coast ability we’ve been lacking since Sergei left, channeling Paul Coffey like he does.
