A Google/NHL breakup?

I haven’t been to the site in weeks myself, but Garett Rogers of Googling Google points out that the NHL’s portal on Google Video hasn’t been updated since January 8th and suspects the much-lauded relationship between the League and Google has died out. Anyone know anything to confirm it?Anything from your League contacts, Paul?

I wonder if it has anything to do with the deal they signed with YouTube. Looks like they’ve been posting their for about 2 months and it may have been too much posting on both of Google’s video services.

    You could be right, Tim.

The thrust of the two pages, though, is different, with the YouTube page showing more clips and highlight reels and the draw of the Google Video page being full-length games. They might have just not found a practical way to monetize the Video page.
