Update (8:31PM): Ansar Khan reports that Datsyuk will remain out of the lineup tonight and tomorrow. He might return against the Avs on Tuesday. -Sarah
Tonight is the third of four games between these two teams this season. The Wings lead the series 2-0, with wins on October 16, 2006 (3-1) and December 31st, 2006 (6-2). They will play the fourth game on March 9th in Detroit.
Since losing to the Wings on the 31st, the Kings have had only one game, a win over Columbus at home (3-0). It was just their third win in eight games.
The Wings are coming off an embarrassing 9-4 loss to San Jose on Thursday. They are 1-1 in January so far.
Chris Osgood will be in net tonight for the Wings, the papers report. Dominik Hasek will start tomorrow night in Anaheim.
Pavel Datsyuk will re-evaluated today and may be in the lineup.
Chris Chelios is still in Detroit and won’t join the team until Monday.
The Wings need to put in a better effort tonight and they know it. The Kings are high on their win over Columbus and will have a lot of confidence, however, so they aren’t just going to roll over.
