He doesn't seem to understand that one season of playing well (while paired with Nick Lidstrom and only because Kronwall is out of the lineup) does not make you a marquee player. They weren't scratching him for "political" reasons, the fact is that we happen to have six better defensemen. Plain and simple. Meg - Norton has been gone so much that I forget he exists anymore. He took forever to decide to actually go to Grand Rapids and then he got injured almost right away. I also forgot that he plays defense since the Wings had been using him at forward.
