Let's not forget Roloson for EDM either, he's not a Giguere or Kiprusoff (I probably slaughtered their last names, but you know who I'm talking about)...but he will be a factor in the playoffs.

He wasn't great at the beginning with the Oilers, but recently he's been doing well. He's only allowed 9 goals in his last 5 games with a 2-3 record (one loss in overtime).

So obviously the Oilers have some good goaltending, they'll just need to bring some offense to the game. With the numbers Roloson has been putting up, you can easily see that the other teams are simply shutting down the goals. The Wings will just have to put their past playoff experiences behind them play like they've been playing.

The Wings are looking good this year, hopefully we'll see a repeat of their last Stanley Cup. I have them beating the Hurricanes in five games, winning the Cup game 4 to 1.

-firebird995 (I don't have a blog, but I do read this site a lot and leave posts...I'm not going to lie, it's a really good site and I enjoy seeing other perspectives of the game.)

The Avs only have to make it to overtime in order to avoid playing the Wings. All they need is a single point.

Based on their recent performances, Edmonton doesn't look like anything to worry about. But compare that 2-2 record with the Wings' 4-0 record against the Avs this year and remember that in three of those games against the Oilers, they went into extra time.

I don't relish the thought of the Wings facing Edmonton, however badly the Oilers have been playing lately. A West Coast series is not a fun way to begin the playoffs regardless and against Edmonton (who the Wings have never beaten in the playoffs, by the way), it could be even worse.

On the other hand, you have the Avs, who the Wings have owned this year but I think there is too much history between the two teams for a playoff series to be easy.

I can't say which I'd rather see. Every time I do, I get what I wished for and then end up regretting it as the Wings falter while facing a supposely inferior team.

I guess I'm cheering for the Canucks tonight so that Monday's Edmonton/Colorado game becomes the deciding factor.

So if Colorado wins tonight in Vancouver, we're locked in to play the Oilers, correct?

I see that we're 2-2 against EDM this year with both losses coming back in November.

Any reason we should be scared of these guys?

Let's see...70 degree weather, check. Octopus on the ice, check. 18-man bench, check. Yep, definitely playoff time.
