Can’t say I miss Luc much but he contributed 30 goals in the last Cup year for the Wings and has had a very good career. He definitely deserves that spot in the Hockey Hall of Fame.

I, for one, am very sad to hear that Robitaille will be retiring. He’s one of the best to ever play the game. He’s had an outstanding career. He was a big contribution when we won the Cup in 2002, and for that I will always love him (even though his performance the next year was sub-par). It’s really sad that he couldn’t play in the playoffs just one more year.
While I’m sad (as previously mentioned), I think it is time. He can’t play at the level he used to be able to. I’m glad he got to finish his career with Los Angeles. That’s really where he was happiest. He’s had a great career and I wish him the best.
Well said, Megan. Living in Southern California, I see Kings games by default. When LA lost Luc to the Wings, I couldn’t have been happier to see one of my favorite players off to my all-time favorite team. His contribution to the ‘02 cup is one of my best Wings memories, and I wish him well in retirement. He’s had an absolutely amazing run, and deserves his spot in the Hall of Fame.
