If professional athletes played only for the bucks and not the love of the game , there wouldn't be much to watch. Love of game is everything but to quote Rob Bindamore , " I never forget that this is my job and I have a responsibilty to do such to the best of my ability." When one reaches that Elder state in life (as opposed to mid and younger) one realizes that the bucks don't bring you closer to your God,and that all talent comes from your creator and is to be used to honor Such a Love in gratitude.

Why does he "belong in the NHL?" Why should a professional athlete play for "the joy of playing the game" instead of money? Should you be an accountant for the joy of it, or because you get paid to do it?

That's retarded.

The leagues overseas will feature real skill, and the elite foreign players, while the NHL sinks like a stone, strangled by the greed of its shortsighted owners.

R.I.P. NHL.

The Red Wings were once a great team. Things change.

I think Datsyuk should think for himself - he knows he belongs in the NHL...I fear his agent may turn him into a Fedorov II, and soon he'll begin to thirst on money, not the joy of playing the game. Even though it's the Russian "Super" League, his talent and fame will be more appreciated here, in the NHL...Think about it Pavel, you belong in the NHL, don't risk all the fans you have...
