…Defenseman Jiri Fischer’s surgically repaired left knee will be tested Thursday, but coach Dave Lewis said Fischer wouldn’t play that night against the Islanders even if cleared. Lewis said he hoped to get Fischer into a game but would wait for the test results before planning further. “It’s too soon to tell,” Lewis said. “We’re going to be careful, for his sake and our sake.” . . .
